RE Curriculum

Christianity and Islam are taught in KS1. Students are breifly introduced to Judaism and study it fully in yr3.

Christianity, Islam and Judaism are taught across KS2. There is a focus on other faiths in yr5/6 such as Buddhism and humanism as part of new curriculum.

Our pupil discussions revealed that the children where keen to learn aspects of these faiths.

Lots of visitors come to school as part of the RE curriculum, who then get involved in the teaching and learning, (clergy, Andrew Jones MP) and we arrange out of school visits to places of worship.

Planning is pupil led e.g. Lessons are planned based on pre-assessment tasks and on questions children want to explore. Drama, role play, hotseating and art work are incorporated into RE lessons and pupils have lots of opportunities to work together in groups within their own classes and within/across phases.
